With the help and participation of the film producer Parsifal, the
Association of War Veterans of Serbia, the Fund of Prince

Municipality of Stari Grad and with the blessing of the Head
Priest of the Church Ruzitza Father Rasha Popovitch, Father Sava
from the Royal Cell of the Monastery Studenitza, Father Petar
Ulemek, Prior of the Monasteries Djurdjevi
Stupovi and Zochishte in Kosovo, the Royal Order of Knights
organizes its traditional event – a chivalrous spiritual and
artistic performance, on St Lazarus day, at 2 p.m., on the
plateau above the statue of the Victor – the site of the
destroyed palace of Despot Stefan, Knight of the Order of the
Gold Dragon, who restored Belgrade.
Only a chivalrous heart can persist in the struggle imposed to us
today, the struggle for the survival of our beautiful land
situated at the cross road between reality and dreams, the
country with its cote of arms and
ancient
manuscripts, pictures, engravings and maps, places of
pilgrimage, old national costumes, sculptures and embroideries
with golden thread, icons and the first printed books.
All this is of particular importance, here and now, at the moments
of spiritual crisis, one of which we are living and experiencing
right now. And for that reason, the day before Christ’s solemn
entrance to Jerusalem, St. Lazarus day, and the day of
liberation of the Belgrade fortress, we organize this spiritual
and cultural event in chivalrous tradition. On Vrbitza, St.
Lazarus Orthodox holiday devoted to children, the Royal Order of
Knights brings together beauty and art. The event will be
recorded and the resources obtained from the sale of the DVD
will be earmarked for the restoration of our threatened holy
places. The resources obtained from
the sale of God loving 2004 and the audio-visual DVD of God
loving 2004 and 2005 will be used for the restoration of the
destroyed monastery Zochishte in Kosovo, dedicated to St Kuzman
and St. Damjan. Father Petar Ulemek, prior of that monastery,
now living in a container, is in charge of its reconstruction.
God willing, next year the resources collected in thus way will
be earmarked for the renewal of the nunnery Devich, also in
Kosovo.
Top artists, singers of church liturgies, spiritual songs and
traditional national songs, actors, poets and folk dancers will
take part in this performance, such as: Svetlana Stevitch, Madam
Piano, Yovan Màljokovitch and his orchestra, Th e Pirg group,
the Legends, Asim Sarvan, Tanja Divnitch, actress, Zoritza
Maksitch, poetess, Savo Kontitch the gusla player, the group

Ljuba Manasiyevitch, Kostich, the writer, the representative
orchestra of the Army of Serbia and Monte Negro and Hadzi Zoran
(Dushan’s)Mrdjenovitch, actor and President of the Royal Order
of Knights.
The military orchestra will play patriotic songs and anthems. The
event
start from “Ruski car” and through Knez Mihailova street moves
to Kalemegdan and through the park directly gets to the venue of
the event.
The Serbian medieval scenery will be enriched with the
collection of Zeljko Koshanin from Kraljevo. The Knights of the
Royal Order of Knights and the beautiful landscape are the main
back drops. Pictures of the destroyed monastery are displayed on
big posters and their purpose is to encourage contributions.
Children from Velika Hocha will paint the portraits of the
Saints and their easels will be placed around the natural stage.
During the performance the noble ladies and the spectators will
make willow wreaths...
Their Royal Highnesses Princess Linda and Princes Mihaylo and
Djordje, patrons of the event, will declare this fairy tale in
chivalry open. Mounted policemen will enhance the atmosphere of
chivalry. After refreshments for fast days and sweets for the
children and spectators the Royal Family will be awarding
Charters of Chivalry in the hall of
the
Parish Center of St Petka Chapel. All present are invited to the
Table of Love. Participants in the performance will be awarded
the title knight of art.
We pray to God and Despot Stefan to bring us together every year in
a greater number to the site of his Palace and imbue us with the
feeling of devotion to God while enjoying in being together and
helping the restoration of our Holy Places.
